Impulses

Thoughts on hair and skin

Some things I notice again and again in my work. Perhaps there's something here you've wondered about too.

Look first, then decide

It's easy to buy another product or try a new colour. I prefer to look first: what's bothering you, what feels good, and what has changed?

Then we can talk about care, colour and a cut that suits your hair.

Does your colour still suit you?

I look at your skin, eyes and natural hair colour together. Not everything needs covering up.

We talk about your grey and how much upkeep you want. Perhaps you'd like a new colour, or perhaps you'd rather let the old one grow out.

Your scalp matters too

We look at your scalp, hair texture and care, and talk about possible influences such as nutrition and stress. I explain plant and chemical colour so you can make an informed choice.

My advice is independent of brands. Where it makes sense, I also show you simple care you can make yourself.

Impulses for everyday life

Care has to fit your day. Sometimes it's about washing, brushing or how you dry your hair. We look at what you can actually use, rather than making a long list.

After our consultation I write down what we've discussed. You can use it at home or take it to your own hairdresser.

Where this knowledge comes from

Susanne Kehrbusch's foundational seminar and her book “Alles klar mit Haut und Haar” have influenced my work, as has Martin Burri's “Haare lesen und verstehen”.

They encouraged me to look beyond the hair itself. I bring that curiosity, along with my experience in the salon, to our conversation.
