Brand independent recommendations

I am not tied to any brand and I do not sell products. What I recommend comes out of the consultation — chosen for your scalp, your hair and your water, not for a shelf. Often the answer is fewer products, used better. Everything I recommend is natural enough to eat — just like the plant colours I work with.

Daylight in naturally cared for hair

What I look at

Cleansing

A mild shampoo that suits your scalp rather than your hair length, and a washing rhythm your scalp can actually settle into.

Care

One treatment that does the job instead of three that overlap. Protein and moisture in the right balance for your hair structure.

Scalp

If the scalp is irritated, flaky, tight or oily, that is where we start — colour and styling come afterwards.

Styling

Light, non-coating products that let the cut do the work, plus the technique to use them with.

Colour upkeep

How to keep tone and shine between appointments without building up residue.

From the inside

Where relevant we talk about nutrition, water and stress — hair reacts to all of them.

How I choose

  • No brand ties, no commission, no sales pressure.
  • As few products as possible, chosen for your scalp type.
  • Good tolerance and a short, clear ingredient list.
  • Everything I recommend is edible — just like the plant colours I work with.
  • Available locally where you live, in Australia or in Europe.
  • If your current products are fine, I will tell you so.

Where to find them

In the salon

The essentials I work with are there at the chair in Byron Bay. You can feel and smell everything before you decide to take it home.

Health food shops and pharmacies

Plant colour, pure oils, herbs and clays are usually available locally — in Australia as well as in Germany. I tell you exactly what to ask for so you do not stand there guessing.

Ordering online

For everything that is hard to find on the shelf I send you the names of the products and the shops I trust, with a note on what a fair price looks like. No affiliate links, nothing I earn from.

Making it yourself

A rinse of herbs, a clay mask for the scalp, an oil blend for the lengths — much of it you can make at home from a handful of ingredients. If nothing suitable is available where you are, I write you the recipe, the amounts and how long it keeps, so you are never left without.

A book I recommend

“Alles klar mit Haut und Haar” — Susanne Kehrbusch

A critical guide to natural skin and hair care: what cosmetics and care products actually do, how to choose the right brush, and how a gentle hair wash works. It is the thinking behind much of my own work.

Available directly from the author and from bookshops, around € 18.80.

Please note: the book is currently only available in German. If you read English only, I happily walk you through its key ideas in a consultation.

Want a personal recommendation?

Product suggestions are part of every consultation. If something suitable is unavailable, I can also guide you in making a simple temporary solution yourself. If you already know what you need, write me — I will send a short list for your hair.
